It comes after State Republicans called for a special session earlier this month to find better solutions and take the pressure off ratepayers. We got perspective from Rep. Connecticut is experiencing the largest outbreak of whooping cough in years. That’s according to state health officials, who report 93 cases so far this year. That’s compared to eleven cases in all of 2023. We talked about this with Dr. Fred Browne of Griffin Health. We also touched on covid cases and salmonella outbreaks.

Seaquest is a for-profit aquarium with a long track record of complaints about animal cruelty and guest injuries at all of their US locations. Connecticut’s only location shut down in August 2023 at the Trumbull Mall. There have been calls for years to shut the company down altogether and now, a shakeup in management could be the beginning of the end for the company. Michelle Sinnottt, Director and Counsel for Captive Animal Law Enforcement with The PETA Foundation, talked about the significance of Seaquest CEO, Vince Covino, quitting the company.
