Seaquest is a for-profit aquarium with a long track record of complaints about animal cruelty and guest injuries at all of their US locations. Connecticut’s only location shut down in August 2023 at the Trumbull Mall. There have been calls for years to shut the company down altogether and now, a shakeup in management could be the beginning of the end for the company. Michelle Sinnottt, Director and Counsel for Captive Animal Law Enforcement with The PETA Foundation, talked about the significance of Seaquest CEO, Vince Covino, quitting the company.
