According to the Childhood Bereavement Estimation Model, 1 in 12 US children will experience the death of a parent or sibling by age 18. That’s 6 million kids and teens experiencing the loss of an immediate relative. That doesn’t include the loss of extended family, friends, neighbors or people they don’t know but hear about on the news. How do we address and discuss death with our children in a healthy way?
