Today I would like to talk about Amber one of our available dogs here at the shelter. Amber is a 6 month Shepard/pit-bull mix who is looking for her forever home. She is wary of new people but once she knows you she LOVES you. Whenever she sees one for her friends walk by she runs to them with her happy tail wag. When Amber was brought here she was no nervous she pancaked onto the ground and would not move. The noises of the shelter scared her, people scared her, she was so uncertain of what was happening. We set her up in a quiet room so she can be by herself and one by one we gained her trust. Amber is looking for a family who has experience with guardian breed (Rottweiler, Great Pyrenees, etc.) or shepherd type dogs who would be familiar with her behaviors. She would also like to go to a home with adults only who will work with her and gain her trust. Amber is very polite to the other dogs she has met here, so if you have one at home we would love to do an introduction at the time of your appointment.
