The Pet of the Week is Aurora!
- Aurora is a 2-year-old female chinchilla
- Aurora came to us because of the declining health of her owner
- They live on average between 8-10 years, so she’s sure to be someone’s lifelong friend!
- These little guys require a nice cool and dry environment as they are native inhabitants of the high Andes mountains
- Chinchillas are social creatures that require lots of attention from an owner and/or another chinchilla companion.
- Chinchillas require a specialized “dust bath” to maintain their soft coats.
- They’re actually nocturnal creatures, which means they’ll be more active at night than during the day
- They have very comical personalities and love to play with their chew-proof toys!
